What is the average cost to repair Costa del mar sunglasses?
I have a pair of fathom costa del mar sunglasses and I scratched the lens. Now the lens needs to be replaced and I was wondering what the cost will be to have this done. The website says they will repair it for a nominal fee and I was wondering about how much that would be.
From reading the FAQ on the website you already know they won’t buff out the scratch because it would effect the visual acuity of the lenses. You also know that they won’t change just one of the lenses, they will automatically change both to insure a perfect color match. Here’s a link to a forum about exactly this topic. You can expect to pay about $40 for the repair, and an additional $10 for shipping and handling from them. You also will have to pay an additional amount to ship the glasses to them. Your repair will cost you somewhere between $50-60. Sorry it’s not what you wanted to hear, but it is what’s going to happen. Looking at the glasses I can tell you that it doesn’t cost them anywhere near that much to make the glasses. They’re warranty is a scam to get more money from you.
